A wonderful children’s museum opened this fall and we finally got around to checking it out during Christmas break. We loved it as much as our friends told us we would. So we now have a family membership that we plan to make the most of.
We took Ben there this afternoon while Jack was in school.

Wayne had a birthday recently and celebrated in style. My parents (HUGE thank you to Na & Pa) watched the boys for us so that we could spend a night in Napa Valley. It was so nice to get away, just the two of us. It doesn’t happen nearly often enough.
We visited a few wineries within walking distance of our hotel and cruised around cute little downtown Calistoga. We stopped at Vermeil Winery tasting room and Wayne even got to take a photo with the Super Bowl XXXIV Trophy.
The next day, we took a little hike to see the Old Bale Mill. We hadn’t planned on doing this, but we both saw it on our drive into Calistoga and remembered watching a “Huell Howser” show about it last summer. Then we went to Sterling Vineyards (thanks for the recommendation, Jimmy!). This was such an amazing experience! You take a gondola ride to the top of the mountain, where the winery sits. There are such amazing views and a gorgeous terrace to sit, relax and take it all in. We could have stayed all day! We had perfect, unseasonably warm weather. It felt like spring. I wish we could have stayed one more day, but it was so good to come home and love on our little monkeys. We sure did miss them!
