We were hit with a pretty good storm last week. I’m guessing we got at least 8 inches of snow at our house. It was so pretty to look at, but miserable when the wind started blowing. For most of the morning, the visibility was so poor, we could barely see the house across the street.

Winter is back!
After enjoying about 6 weeks of spring-like weather, winter has come back to town. Wednesday and Thursday mornings we woke up to a phone call from the school district stating that there would be a 2 hour delay for school. It was cancelled altogether on Friday. The boys loved throwing snowballs and helping to shovel the snow. Ben especially loved standing inside the house, in front of the window of the back door while Daddy was outside, throwing snow at the window. He would crack up and scream ‘Do it again, Daddy’. I love Ben’s laugh!

Fun with Na & Pa
Last weekend Kristin’s parents came up to spend some time with us. It’s very rare that they make the drive in the winter. We’ve been having such wonderful, spring-like weather the past few weeks. It was nice to get out and enjoy it with them.

Big Boy Bed
So the time has come to pack up the crib that we’ve had for the past 5 1/2 years. Ben finally figured out how to climb out of the crib. Although he loved his crib (and we loved having him in an enclosed area for nap & bedtime), it is no longer safe for him to be in the crib. So Wayne and his buddy, Kyle took the top bunk off of Jack’s bed and moved it into Ben’s room. It’s been 2 days now, and Ben is still missing his crib. He doesn’t want a big boy bed, because he insists he’s not a big boy. He likes being mommy’s baby. So as long as we refer to the place he sleeps as his crib, everyone is happy. The first night he only got out of bed once. It went much better than I thought it would go. Hope I didn’t jinx myself.
I’m sure it will take some time for him to figure out how to sleep like a normal person. This is him on the first night…..sleeping with his head at the foot of the bed. Most of the time he sleeps sideways. I think he is missing his crib so much because he liked to prop his legs up on the crib railings as he sang and talked himself to sleep.
I still remember the excitement and anticipation when we were shopping for nursery furniture with our parents. And Wayne and I putting that crib together with Jack living in my pregnant belly. It's hard to believe that our house doesn’t have any babies in it anymore. Why do they have to grow so fast? Someone better smack me silly before I start getting baby fever!

Cousins
Wayne’s sister, Mindy and her family came up to visit this past weekend. We had a great visit, even took a trip to Scheel’s and rode on the ferris wheel. Ben is finally tall enough – it was his second time riding. Cousin Cole was just tall enough to take his very first ride, and he loved it! Jack and Hannah are two little peas in a pod. They were so excited to play together.
