Merry Christmas!

Jack was so very excited to receive a lego set that he’s been wanting for ‘his whole life’.

Ben, on the other hand, was just happy and excited to open any and ALL presents that he could get his hands on.  He didn’t even care what was inside.  Just rip it open (declare that he had wanted it for his whole life) and move along to the next present.

Fire Department Christmas Party

Each year the Fire Department holds a Christmas party for the kids of the department.  It is so much fun for the little ones.  They decorate gingerbread cookies (made by one of the firemen), do crafts, and they even get a visit from Santa!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Although we haven’t had much snow so far, this weekend it is beginning to at least FEEL a lot like Christmas around here!

This picture cracks me up because Ben looks so proud of the gingerbread house.  He really only participated in decorating for 3 minutes tops.  The rest of his time was dedicated to eating the candy and then crawling around underneath the table pretending to be a dog.

You see, Jack was very creative this year and put a doggie door on the front door.  That is what prompted Benjamin to crawl around on the floor and pretend to be a dog.  Jack also put a chimney on his house this year.  I only helped with the icing.

I just love this time of year and the magic that I see in the eyes of my children!  It doesn’t get much better than this!!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving

Been super busy around here and haven’t made a blog post in awhile…..

We were fortunate enough to celebrate Thanksgiving twice this year.  On Thanksgiving day, we drove down the hill to Roseville and had a wonderful traditional Thanksgiving meal with Wayne’s mom, sister and her family.  Complete with home-made apple and pumpkin pies.  YUMMMMMY!

Hannah wanted the drumstick, but the meat was so tender that it was falling off the bone.  So this is how she ate it…

Then on Friday, my brother, Jimmy and his family hosted a gourmet dinner at their house for our family and his wife, Jen’s parents.

Here’s Matt, the life of the party.  He had to work that night, so he was catching a few zzz’s to help him stay up all night catching the bad guys.

Our Little Snow Angel

So, we already had our second snow of the season last night.  Ben couldn’t wait to get out there and play in it.  There wasn’t much, but he was asking all morning if he could wear his shmow gloves (he still has trouble pronouncing some words and letter sounds) and throw meatballs at me.

Here is Mr. Benjamin making snow angels, dancing, stomping and having a great time in the little bit of snow that came down last night.  This boy brings me so much joy!  I’m so happy to have captured this moment, because earlier in the day, I thought I might lose my mind.  He is currently fixated on the age of EVERYTHING.  He asked me the age of every person in our family, my hair, the crackers I was packing in Jack’s lunch, the chair he was sitting in, the fork he was eating his breakfast with, etc.  I could go on, but you get the idea.  It makes me laugh, but also want to pull my hair out at the same time.  Love you, buddy!

Apple Hill

On Nevada Day, we made the trek to Apple Hill for the day.  My brother (Jimmy), his wife (Jennifer), their son (Cooper), my mom, and Jen’s parents all met us there to partake in the fun.

The weather couldn’t have been better.  The boys had a blast playing on a kiddie playground.  We had to practically drag them away.  Then, Ben did a pony ride while Jack & Cooper caught fish.  While we were there, we enjoyed some fudge, yummy apples dipped in warm caramel and apple donuts.  I wish we could have spent more time there and seen a bit more of what Apple Hill has to offer.  We got a bit of a late start and were slowed by traffic on our way there.
